Drawing upon experimental world music and classical influences, I perform vocal counterpoint melodies with extended techniques, creating sounds reminiscent of bird calls, growls, and wind. This serves as a metaphor for co-creative experimentation, directly inspired by the essence of pure love. My mission is to inspire each listener to contribute to 'making the world a better place' from their unique point of view.
East Hills is no place for Cosby-like kids like us. I yearn for the days on Sugar Top with Etta James and Jackie Robinson. This new place makes me uneasy. Following my mother's advice, I tread the middle of the street, where the streetlight offers its protective glow. I carry my house key wedged between my knuckles—a lesson from my mother—to ward off potential threats. Despite my desire to be a good person, the environment weighs on me. I'm weary of the Christian evangelist's condemning words. Without Etta's guidance, my only solace is disappearing into the melodies of my flute.
