There is something mysterious, seductive, and challenging about
moments that we can not grasp and freeze. These moments happen
and then they end and new ones begin again. This is life.
Improvised music takes on the shape of life.
Through the use of sounds (whispers, screams, rhythms, movement, melodies, etc.)
we learn how to enhance compassionate relationships with one another, become
more comfortable in our bodies, and feel safe with expressing our true feelings.
A musical background to attend a workshop is not required.

Improvisational Playshop: "Initiate the Voice and Set it free" This workshop will take place in Iztac, Mexico for The Yoga Arts Festival from March 15th to March 23rd. For more information, please go to www.yogaartfestival.com Initiate the Voice and Set it Free With improvisation, you can explore the deeper parts of self and build a stronger sense of expression. Have you ever had difficulty in expressing yourself or simply wanted to learn how to sing? Or do you enjoy singing but what to improve your skills and learn other styles? Learn how to use the voice to connect directly with an energetic source that enhances creativity, celebrates joy, expands expression and opens receptivity. With sounds, whispers, screams, rhythms, movement and melodies from around the globe, Tonya teaches others how to musically respond from a heart space and become confident with using the voice as a musical vehicle to express oneself. Participants learn healthy and strengthening habits for the voice, breathing techniques, solo and group works, strong listening skills and discover new forms of using the voice as a multifarious instrument. No musical background is required.
